Pain Management by Ayurveda in Lumbar Spondylosis– A Case Study and Selective Review of Literature

Introduction: In Ayurveda, Snehana is an important method of treatment for diseases the spine. As per fatty substances are having properties opposite to that Vata Dosha which root many diseases. Therefore, Sneha (fatty substances) have position in Ayurvedic treatment. Fatty 4 types Ghrita (Ghee), Taila (oil), Vasa (muscle fat), and Majja (bone marrow fat).
 Among these types, literature available about (ghee), fat) only, but not currently practiced. We got a case study, cod liver oil capsules were used as representative Sneha.
 A male 35 suffering from lumbar spondylosis approached moderate severe low back pain. successfully this case.
 Study Design: single study selective review literature.
 Place Duration Study: Panchakarma OPD, Yashwant medical college, PGTRC, Kodoli, 416114, Dist. – Kolhapur, Maharashtra, India.
